Martin Lassen-Vernal is Head of Communications in the City of Copenhagen and an External Lecturer at the IT-University of Copenhagen. Drawing on many years of experience in public sector leadership and strategic communication, Martin works at the intersection of leadership, communication, organizational change, and AI. Since early 2023, he has worked closely with the leadership and integration of generative AI in organizational practice, with a particular focus on how it affects not only security and efficiency, but also quality, professional judgment, meaningful work, and wellbeing.

He has contributed to the debate on generative AI in working life by arguing that AI should be understood as a leadership and transformation challenge, not simply a technical tool to be deployed, or a project to be managed.

He is a co-developer and advocate of the STAIR Method (Socio-Technical AI Reflection), a method developed in collaboration with the IT-University of Copenhagen. The aim of STAIR is to support more responsible, practical, and meaningful AI integration in organizations. Martin’s work focuses on helping leaders and teams create shared language, clearer frames, and reflective practices around AI in everyday work.
